Base64 is a group of similar encoding schemes that represent binary data in an ASCII string format by translating it into a radix-64...[en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base64]

The approach could also be used to load almost any binary (like audio and video) if ROM space allows it.

The base64 encoder was taken from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/base64encoder/ but if you Google it, will find hundreds of online and downloadable options.
