Library Description

The library covers all the necessary functions to control MIC24045 click board. Library performs the communication with the device via I2C driver by writing to registers and by reading from registers. The library has generic write and reads function, get/set the output voltage function, for sets/gets settings, reads the status value, etc.

Key functions:

  • uint8_t mic24045_getStatus() - Get the status value function.
  • float mic24045_getVout() - Get the output voltage function.
  • void mic24045_setVout( float vOut ) - Set the output voltage function.

Examples description

The application is composed of three sections:

  • System Initialization - Initializes GPIO, I2C and LOG structures, sets RST pin as output and INT pin as input and start to write log.
  • Application Initialization -  Initialization driver enables - I2C, also write log.
  • Application Task - (code snippet) This is an example which demonstrates the use of MIC24045 Click board. The system will slowly decrement vOut in 0.25 V steps. Results are being sent to the Usart Terminal where you can track their changes. All data logs write on usb uart changes for every 3 sec.
void applicationTask()
{
    for ( cnt = 21; cnt > 2; cnt-- )
    {
        vOut = cnt * 0.25;

        mic24045_setVout( vOut );
        mic24045_enable();
        Delay_1sec();

        currentVoltage = mic24045_getVout();
        FloatToStr( currentVoltage , logText );
        mikrobus_logWrite( "   Current voltage:   ", _LOG_LINE );
        mikrobus_logWrite( "   ", _LOG_TEXT );
        mikrobus_logWrite( logText, _LOG_TEXT );
        mikrobus_logWrite( " V", _LOG_LINE );
        mikrobus_logWrite( "----------------------", _LOG_LINE );
        Delay_1sec();

        mic24045_disable();
        Delay_1sec();
    }
}

Additional notes and informations

Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART clickUSB UART 2 click or RS232 click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all MikroElektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message
